About InnerShift Counseling

You’ve been holding a lot for a long time; work, family, everyone else’s needs… and somehow, you’re still expected to have it all together. But inside, you may feel overwhelmed, anxious, stuck in your head, or just tired of carrying everything on your own. If you’re craving clarity, peace of mind, and a life that feels more like yours again, you’re in the right place.

You want to feel calm, confident, and clear in your decisions, but stress, old patterns, and everything on your plate can make it hard even to hear yourself think.

A lot of my clients are the “strong ones.” The dependable one. The one people lean on. And while that looks good on the outside, it can feel like pressure on the inside, overthinking, people-pleasing, snapping when you’re overstimulated, shutting down when you’ve had enough, or quietly questioning yourself even when you know better. It’s exhausting trying to be everything for everyone and still feel emotionally okay.

Our Work Together

We’ll slow things down and get honest about what’s really going on without judgment and without you having to “perform.”

We’ll connect the dots between your stress, your triggers, your relationships, and the patterns that keep showing up… then we’ll build practical tools you can use in real life. I’m big on both insight and action because clarity is excellent, but it’s nice to feel the difference day to day.

You don’t have to keep white-knuckling your way through life.

With the proper support, you can feel more grounded, more confident, and more in control of how you show up at home, at work, and in your relationships.

You may look like you're doing fine, but internally you're tired of feeling all over the place, and you’re ready for things to finally make sense.

  • You’re overthinking everything

  • You’ve been through things that “should be over,” but it still shows up

  • You stay busy, so you don’t have to feel what you’ve been avoiding

  • You’re high functioning but not at peace

  • You feel like you’re carrying the emotional load for everyone

  • You want better relationships, but you’re tired of being the one doing all the work

  • You are craving clarity, confidence, and a more relaxed nervous system

I help women get out of survival mode, find their peace, and into a life that feels clearer, steadier, & emotionally healthier Without losing themselves in the process.

  • A real down-to-earth space where you can exhale and be yourself

  • Deep listening & I do give feedback!

  • Trauma-informed support that respects your pace

  • Straightforward feedback with warmth, not judgment

  • Humor when it fits, because healing does have to feel so heavy all the time!

My Approach

I am person-centered at the core

Meaning I'm not here to fix you, I'm here to understand you, help you make sense of you, and support you in making the changes that last. I pull from evidence-based approaches such as CBT, solution-focused work, motivational techniques, acceptance & commitment, and trauma-focused care. However, I am not rigid!  I meet you where you are, and we build from there.

My story

As a Black, Indigenous Woman of Color, sister, daughter, wife, mother, & friend

I understand the challenges of navigating through life in all its twists and turns. I chose to do this work because I AM YOU! I’ve seen, personally and professionally, how women carry so much and still feel like they're failing, going over and beyond to still not be noticed or heard. Feeling like you must keep it all together because you can’t afford to lose it. Over time, I’ve learned that healing starts with feeling truly seen and having the space to be honest without shame. I love helping people connect the dots, shift the patterns, and build a life that feels calmer, clearer, and more aligned.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina, Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina, LCASA, NCC, and Certified Clinical Anxiety Professional. I provide therapy for adults who are dealing with anxiety, trauma, depression, life transitions, perfectionism, and the pressure of trying to hold everything together while quietly feeling overwhelmed inside.

As a therapist, I’m warm, down-to-earth, and honest. I believe therapy should feel like a safe place where you can exhale, tell the truth, and not feel judged for what you are carrying. My style is supportive, but also practical. I want you to feel heard, but I also want you to leave therapy with more clarity, insight, and tools you can actually use in your everyday life.

Outside of being a therapist, I’m also a person who deeply values peace, freedom, faith, family, laughter, and meaningful connections. I’m naturally introverted, so I understand the need for quiet, space, and time to recharge. I love serene environments, beautiful homes, back roads, old homes with character, soulful music, and those small moments in life that make you feel grounded again. I love laughing!! I believe humor has a place in healing, because sometimes being able to laugh, even in the middle of life being heavy, reminds us that we are still human.

I know many women are used to being the strong one, the responsible one, the one people come to when they need support. But even strong women need a place to lay things down. I hope that therapy with me feels like a space where you do not have to perform, prove, or explain everything perfectly. You can come as you are, and we can start there.

Core Values

  • I am pretty much myself, with a little more professionalism. I say what I mean and mean what I say. I come as my authentic self, no fluff, I’m not perfect and don’t try to be, it’s important that my clients feel they can do the same!

  • I try my best to view things through my clients’ perspective to help me understand how they see the world, not how I think they may see it. I respect your pace, boundaries, and lived experiences.

  • I’m always listening for what’s underneath the surface so you can understand what is really driving the core issues.

  • We can be compassionate and accountable. This helps avoid getting stuck and move forward.
